My kind of growth
I keep thinking about the social activist A.J. Muste, who - during the Vietnam war - stood outside the White House every night with a candle. The story goes that he was asked if he really thought this could change the country. He replied, that wasn't why he did it. He did it so the country wouldn't change him.
In a teeny tiny way, my moving away from platforms that clash with my beliefs - as much as I'm able - is my way of trying to limit just how much the internet changes me. I doubt the tech broligarchy is watching my every move, but I am. No doubt it'll be an ongoing game that I'll sometimes lose.
So I've moved The Earth House from Substack to Ghost (which is a much better name anyway). If you subscribed and read my posts in your inbox, then you shouldn't notice much difference. Nothing needs to be done. If you disabled emails and only read in the Substack app, you may be surprised to see me pop up in your emails.
If this change of platform and/or delivery means you choose to unsubscribe I shall be sorry to see you go. Thank you sticking with me this far. If you stay, I am extremely grateful for your illustrious company and I look forward to writing again soon.
